Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) is an acute, highly-contagious respiratory disease of cattle caused by bovine herpesvirus type 1 (BHV-1). It often affects the cow's reproductive and respiratory tract. On occasion, it has also been known to cause gastrointestinal disturbances in young calves, resulting in calf scour and weight loss.

Symptoms

Rhinitis (red colored nose)
Conjunctivitis (red, watery eyes)
Dyspenea (difficulty breathing)
Loss of appetite
Fever
Salivation
Nasal discharge
Abortion
Decreased milk production
Reduced fertility
