Necrotic Enteritis

Necrotic enteritis is a highly-fatal gastrointestinal disease of newborn calves that is caused by infection with Clostridial perfringens type C bacterium. It commonly affects multiple calves within the same herd, characterized by the development of weak, depressed calves.

A small number of calves may recover in 3-5 days, but most of the time it is fatal.
