Bovine respiratory syncitial virus (BRSV) is a serious viral respiratory disease of cattle. BRSV can range from mild to life-threatening clinical signs and is often followed by secondary bacterial infection due to damage caused to the tissue by the virus. BRSV infects the mucosal cells lining the respiratory tract, destroying the mucociliary apparatus that clears pathogens and particulate matter from the airways.
